    Mixed Fish Roll-Ups

    Since their conception early this year, our mixed fish roll-ups have been flying off the counter. Strips of four or five different fish wrapped up in a Sole fillet, completely boneless, they’re a delicious way to taste the subtle differences between different species of fish. They can be baked in the oven (best covered or in a foil parcel) for 12-14 minutes, or in a deep pan, simply add some wine (or water), bring to the boil, pop the roll-ups in, put the lid on and keep on a rapid boil for 7 minutes.

    According to our regulars in the shop, cooking in wine is the way forward!!

     

    Contents will include fish such as:-

    Ling, Monkfish, Hake, Salmon, Pollack, Rock Salmon, Smoked Pollack, Smoked Wrasse, Smoked Dab, Smoked Plaice

    Outer fillet is normally one of the following: –

    Dover Sole, Sand Sole, Megrim Sole, Torbay Sole

    Due to the preparation time required to make the roll-ups, delivery days for these are Thursday or Friday.
    The mix of fish used to make these is subject to what we have available, there is an option as to whether you’d like to include smoked fish or not.

    Fresh Cornish Octopus has a delicious, creamy coloured flesh much enjoyed by gourmets. Its a good source of low fat protein and rich in vitamin B12. Delicious cooked very quickly seared on the barbecue or a hot griddle and great for slow cooked dishes such as Mediterranean fish stew. Unlike Squid which can be cooked very quickly from fresh, Octopus needs tenderising first before cooking quickly, the best way is to simmer in a pan of water for at least an hour until tender.

    We can prepare your Octopus for you, in which case you’ll receive approximately 60% of the original weight.
